About Me
An overview of who I am as a person
My name is Darian Salahi, and I’m a student at George Mason University pursuing a B.S. in Information Technology with a concentration in Networking and Telecommunications.
I am eager to apply my networking and programming skills in hands-on IT roles or internships.
I discovered my passion for computers during my senior year of high school, when a computer-networking elective revealed how naturally my love for solving puzzles translated into working with technology.
Through my 100- to 300-level IT courses, I’ve become comfortable with HTML, Python, SQL, and I’ve learned how to rapidly apply that knowledge to create fun, hands-on projects such as this very website and my personal favorite, a self-built program that automates the creation of YouTube Shorts with a single click.

Skills
HTML Proficient
I built and customized this website directly in HTML and CSS using GitHub, rather than relying on website builders.
Python Proficient
After taking both IT 109 and IT 209 and through experience with my automation program, I have acquired the necessary tools to be able to complete any task I put my mind to.
SQL Proficient
With the completion of the IT 214 Database Fundamentals course, I have gained a foundational knowledge of databases and how to create and manage them. This foundation will allow me to quickly pick up any additional skills required as I am already very familiar with the language.
Excel Proficient
I learned to use excel at an advanced level as it has been integrated into almost every single one of my classes including a 300 level Business Management course and the 200 level Database Fundamentals course which has allowed me to both manipulate date within the spreadsheet and extractrapolate data from the spreadsheets to find trends and meaning from the data.
Adept with Hardware
I have become comfortable taking apart electronic devices, upgrading them, and putting them back together in working order. I constructed my 3D printer and then replaced the motherboard later in order to have it print at a softer volume. I find any sort of hands on projects with technology to be very engaging and rewarding to me.
Time Management and Planning
Planning and time management are key principles of mine I have in order to maximize my chances to succeed while respecting the time of others. I apply this principle in all parts of my life.
